hi Rob, I recommend to do a double upgrade.. just changing the video card to a
GF2 for example will bring you frustrating results, GPL is CPU hungry, the
single most effective upgrade is a CPU/MOBO one, then to improve image quality
over a V2, you would need to upgrade the video card.
GPL with the D3D patch brings excitting results, I'll show you why, bring your
mouse over these images (check the last one), you'll have to let the page to
load all images, these are quite big, since I wanted to show the quality you can
achieve with them by using low compression level of JPG
switch your desktop to 1024 x 768, if you use IE, then do F11 when the page is
loaded :

btw GF3 and GF2 Ultra cards, works better with 800 Mhz + CPU, anything less will
be a big bottle neck with the card
