Curiousity is getting the better of me -

Is there any way to get Gran Turimso 2 working
well on a PC via an emulator? (This would be a
P2 350, I'm afraid - the upgrade itch has been
twitching for a while. :-)

I tried using Bleem! some time ago to emulate a
PS1 I tested it using a hired copy of a game called
"Porsche Challenge" or something and whilst
everything did seem to run, the graphics were
beneath ASCII art standards and it was completely
unplayable.

So - have things moved on ?

Thanks / Steve

I still think Bleem! is the only way to do it, but I have heard that usually
it works well.

I personally have never tried it, although I would like to play GT2 on the
PC

A friend of mine has "Connectix - Virtual Game Station"  He reckons it's the
best PSX emu.  I saw it running Gran Turismo 2 and Tekken 3 on a Pentium III
600 and it looked PSX-perfect to me.

Bleem! will do the job, i've had GT2 running fine on it, but it was on a
faster PC than yours.

hi,

the free emulator epsxe does a magnificent job as it will use your
pc's 3d card to good effect.

vgs emulates the playstations lower resolution display and looks quite
crappy in comparison to epsxe, bleem et al.

if you want to see some screenshots go to this old page of mine

http://members.fortunecity.com/istoff/gt2psxe/

i snapped these at 800x600 and jpegged them down so a little quality
loss is present.

i believe that if you have a fast geforce card which can handle AA,
you should have even better quality than my lowly setup.

if somebody can get it working well with a FF wheel, let me know.  i
can't seem to get a good setting.

Regards all,
istoff

OK.  I'm convinced.  Where can we get this free emulator?

http://www.epsxe.com/

You can also try http://www.psxemu.com/ for more info on Playstation
emulators.

...er wait,  it looks like they've changed and the site now goes to
http://www.ngemu.com/.
