BLEEM! Gran Turismo on PC?

It runs fine on my pc, Celeron 333(o/c to 416), 128mb PC100, Voodoo3 3000
AGP.  It can get a little choppy at times, but I expect it to run much
better when the full version is released that supports Direct3D for the
rendering.  I have it pre-ordered, should be here soon I hope.  It also
worked with an ATI Expert98 AGP card, I don't know where you got that Bleem!
doesn't support AGP cards, works fine for me.

Has anyone tried running the playstation emu from BLEEM with gran turismo?
How did it run? any problems? I have tried to get it to work but my
soundcard and 3dfx card aren't directx 6.0 compliant and it wouldn't run. I
have a Hercules stingray 128/3d and an OPTi930 soundblaster pro.

They claim it works, but I haven't been able to finad out for sure as Bleem
doesn't work with AGP cards. Neat feature. They have no plans to fix it at
this point, and with SONY breathing down their necks who knows what will
happen.

I've seen the silent, non-accelerated Bleem demo running Gran
Turismo on a friend's computer.  It ran very well on his P2-300,
although not quite as fast as it would on a Playstation (i.e. one
Playstation second = 1.5 seconds on Bleem).

Did he have to do anyhting special to make it work? I have the "world"
demo of Bleem! (latest version) on a Celeron 400a, Win95 OSR B,
STB Blackmagic card.

Tekken3 works fine, including videos, but Gran Turismo hangs after on the
second text screen after starting it up (the one about copyrights etc).
Yep, I'm using original versions of the games.

Does it work well with driving controllers? That's the main reason I want
to play on the PC rather than Playstation (well, plus the high-res
graphics if I get the retail version of Bleem!, which I won't do until I
get GT working on the demo).

TNT viper550 AGP celeron 450A 128mb here.
GT is no problem on the demo. The playstation version is faster on
critcal moments and there are lots more white visible polygons
 on the pc version

Nothing at all.  He ran the program as clean as it was
downloaded.

um.  now you're opening up a huge can of worms.  gran turismo is the best
driving/racing simulation ever made.  GPL requires that you spend 20 hours a day
just to figure out to get the card to go around one lap cleanly.

GPL is a great game, but is it FUN?  that depends.  i don't have the time or
patience gpl requires.  most people don't. GT also requires time and patience, but
you feel satisfaction much sooner than in GPL.

I can't get my card to do anything.. It just sits there.. inside my
computer...mocking me...It's doing it now...

Fun fun fun

You are in the minority

Buzzzz.. Wrong answer.. Most people do.

And you lose satisfaction much quicker in GT too.

"The hell you say" :-)

GT is a lot of fun but it's a long way from being any kind of a sim.
I've played it to death and enjoyed every moment, but couldn't help
but wish for longer races, more realistic handling, car damage to stop
ridiculous driving and passing moves, a whole plethora of things that
are missing.

All that is proven is that a sim can't be all things to all people,
and while it may be feasible to say that GT is the best simulation
you've ever played, it doesn't follow that it's te greatest simulation
ever made - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

From The Duke to Shakespeare in one message :-)

Cheers!
John
