You can download it and run it in demo mode. Only 1 car and one track.
It's good but it's not breath-taking enough to be a must-have. The low
speed handling is more accurate than most sims I've played though.
And from what I hear a bit idiosyncratic.
farting around required just to start the car, farting around to add a
tach, sound designed to mimic what you hear with a helmet &
earplugs....

Only for the demo - a feature initially withheld. Strange choice but I
guess the developer wanted some incentives to buy the full product
Sound is ok for me but I know on some machines it is poor, hence an
alternative version using more conventional samples will be provided.

I understood it was there, but you had to review the replay and press
F3 twice or some such to get it.
2nd hand info, I watched the threads go back and forth in my league
from they guys who tried it and decided the PITA/reward ratio was wrong
for me. Maybe next version.
To get that
save a replay after exiting a session. Then load the replay, press R
then F3 twice, which should put you back in the garage. Start the car
and the LCD should now work.

<The treatment of the users has been appalling, ranging from misleading
reviews from highly respected organizations and individuals to an abject
lack of testing from the developers. There is no way possible that the
product was properly tested before release - the FUNDAMENTAL issues
affecting the use of the software are appalling and were discovered 10
minutes after a midnight release. It is clear some bills needed to be paid
and the community <funded this by paying FULL PRICE for beta software.

My own words on RSC - This project represents one of the biggest
opportunities for the sim community to influence a product designed
specifically for it, a concept which appears to have been embraced by
the vast majority here on RSC.
It is a niche product for a niche group (us) so expectations of a slick
release with a team of project managers, marketing and a huge beta team
are way off the mark. Run with the concept of it being developed within
the sim community and that we are funding the next *** sim and it
all seems to be working rather well. Those that have put time and effort
(and been lucky enough not to find the major bugs effect their machines)
can see the potential. A fine drive, good multiplayer when it is working
well and even decent sound with some community inspired tweaks.
The progress in the last fortnight has been very encouraging for me to
believe this could be as significant a sim to the *** sim community
as GPL was. Of course there is an element of risk with such a small team
having to build everything (including a security system from scratch)
but it is a hobby after all, it is not running people's businesses as
some posts would seem to suggest.

Neither ***ing or moaning, just said the effort/reward ratio wasn't
right for me with this version base on what I've read of other's
experience.

But what happens when the optional oil squirter shoots a blast of oil,
(black gold, Texas Tea) on your goggles(WW1 Snoopy replicas?) and then the
goggle hue is changed...
