I tried the demo last night hoping for an experience similar to that
described by the author of the Autosimsport review.  I didn't quite get
there.  The sim seems like it has promise.  I definitely like the idea
of driving those Formula Fords.

The FF was OK.  The frame rate wasn't very good on my computer.
Something seemed to be missing, but I'm not sure what it was.

Is the purchased version better than the demo?

I don't have it but I was reading the forums about it at RSC and it looks
like it no longer has any support. Too bad as from what I have read and seen
of it it looks pretty good. No AI cars though so I wouldn't buy it anyway.

IMHO it has great potential as a true *** sim. Changing gears in
these cars is tricky and every other sim allows you to just flick a
micro switch - not with NKPro. Flatspots get modelled too. The physics
feel great in the Formula Fords. This could be good...

Some tweaking gets frame rates on a par with other modern sims. The
sound is the one that most needs tweaking - setting a latency to 40-50
instead of the default 250 makes a huge improvement for many.

No AI nor multiplayer in the demo.

Still no AI but you do get multiplayer although there are some issues
right now - it is a bit hit & miss - some good experiences some bad.

You also get to drive the winged cars.

The sensible choice would seem to be to wait right now. After the
initial close working with the community the development team have gone
very quiet - presumably working on fixes - but not communicating the
fact. Naturally this leads to speculation. It is good fun but needs more
work - which was the case when I bought it and I went in with my eyes
open, however investing in a community inspired sim needs dialogue with
the developers - which is sadly lacking right now. Hopefully it will
change and NKPro and will become the defacto *** sim. Right now it
is wait and see...

Cheers

What's really worrying is that seemingly Kunos doesn't even reply to or
send out new licenses to people who have trouble registering the sim
online (which is a known bug in nkpro) and have "wasted" all their
licenses in vain attempts to the get the full sim content.

I preordered nkpro too and luckily haven't had any issues with it apart
from the well-known bugs, but denying people who've purchased the full
sim new licenses for whatever reason the devs might have seems a bit
strange to say the least.

All the best, uwe

anyone do anything with the "namie" version anymore?  I loved the ferrari
(the 62 gt) in that sim, fired it up last night drove all the tracks I had,
what a blast.  really was shocked that the "new" was nothing like the
original...  Thank god for GTlegends i guess...

Since the first and only patch of NKP, Kunos has spoken twice, presumably.
He no longer feels that he is on the same level as the community, choosing
both times to speak through a representative.  Now I can understand the
president using a press secretary to communicate with the public, but I
can't understand Kunos' refusal to speak.

More and more I'm getting the feeling that this guy has simply flown the
coop.  Either he has done this, or he has turned sour from all the
criticisms and thinks he is too good to respond.  It is a strange situation,
from a guy who was so vocal to a guy who now is as silent a small-town
downtown at 2am.

Until he reappears, my only guess is that he has taken off and will never
return.  There's no other better way to logically explain this total
transformation from exuberance to utter silence.

I do like the sim, though.  But without some fixes and the promised dev-kit,
NKP will die, unless the community-- some of whom seem as arrogant as Kunos
(apparently)-- steps up.

Whatever has happened, I'm glad I didn't buy into this thing right away.
