Any news on Nascar Heat Demo?????????????

Early August is the latest word...  Ed Martin has said he can't be more
specific because his PR dept. would kill him....  But he did say it would be
sometime between now and the 15th.  You probably already know that the
official release of the full game is slated for August 22.

Eagerly awaiting NASCAR Heat as well...

So is 35 megs unreasonably large?  I have gotten spoiled with DSL these
days, but given that resumeable download programs are pretty easy to come
by...what is the largest that a reasonable developer can expect the user of
today to download?

yes  yes I am sure that some of you with T3 lines and what not  would
download it if it were a gig...but to those with 56K and unsure about
Heat...what would be your cut off size?

I've downloaded a 10mb file from home before, but I needed it to upgrade my V3
drivers on a weekend.  Other than that, the largest file I download at home is
about 4-5 mb.  In other words, I don't download demos from home.

I guess it depends how badly you want the program.  Before I got cable,
I had a 56k dial-up.  I had downloads as large as a gig, thanks to
GoZilla.  My ISP didn't exactly appreciate it though...<g>

Yes, I can't remember what demo it was but I downloaded one that was
125MB once. Also had a 75MB one that I downloaded at work on a
Saturday in less than 15 minutes. Cool

I saw the Watkins Glen movie... looked very impressive!
And even in GPL I like an occasional IMS race...

Ouch!!  Reminds me of a co-worker of mine.  Up until about a year ago,
he was still using a 14.4 on his Mac.  He's had a *lot* more patience
than I would!  He's up to 56k now.

Still stuck at 56k here. :-(   I doubt DSL will ever be an option for
me, since I live in the "sticks".  I do have cable, but not cable
modem access yet.  They keep telling me 6 months, but they have been
saying that for the last 18 friggin months now.
Anyway, 50 megs is about my limit, and I do use Getright to help
manage any d/l.

I am stuck at 56K, but I don't see where that should limit what
size demo I can d/l.  I just start it up before I go to bed.  By
the time I wake up in the morning (or at least get home from
work in the eve) any size file should have transferred.  Or if
it dies somewhere in the middle, just restart (using Getright).
I really don't care how much data is flying through my phone
lines as I sleep...

I have a 33.6 and routinely download 100+MB warez, demos, and anything else
that looks good. I use GetRight and Net Vampire and just leave the computer
running overnight. If I can do it anyone can.
