3 axis bug
Hasbro confirmed, that there's a bug in GP3: there are problems with 3 axis
wheels. Only the Guillemot ForceFeedback-Wheel is working without problems.
They also told us, that they are working on a Patch.
wahoooo gonna do some good lap on my guillemot Ferrari ff wheel!

Hi,

hate to burst da bubble...but it aint working on a guillemot either...
Sure..you can get noth pedals to work if you disable 'split axis' in
the joystick controle...
But you will be stuck with what's basically one axis for gas and
brake..press one and the other craps out...
Awefully nice in the wet and you have to brake in a fast corner...bye
bye rear end..
How come i'm basically sure there was no betatesting at all...except
by the crammond team themselves...

There is officially no 3 axis support in GP3.  Although GP2 did
have it, it was removed in GP3.  I guess if you're gonna make crap,
you want it to be total crap.

Tony, if you don't mind, could you share with us how you have your wheel
configured in GP3?

My LWF (non-force) works with split axis. If I am accelerating and touch the
brake , the car slows but keeps driving depending on how much throttle I
still have on. If I am on full throttle, and apply full brake, the car
slows, and then if I release the throttle it slows heavily and will lock
wheels.

Ok

I haven';t yet set it to run the game thru the Profiler.
In GP3
Set it as Wheel user set
Ran the calibration then set Steering as JOY A Horizontal and Analog
Accel and Brake are JOY A Vertical and also Analog
Gears care Joy A Fire 1 and 2
Control Driven Calibration is on. This allows the steering to be the up/down
and the gear to be the selector when in the pits and needing to go to the
setup, fuel, etc.

Thats about it, so let me know how it goes. I'm using the USB port

Sorry but that's not dual axis.. the pedals just decrease eachothers values
depending on how much you press either pedals. With dual axis you can apply
max throttle and max brake at same time and neither value effects the
other... So if you apply max brake and throttle on you should be able lock
up the front easily and make a burn out or donut for example.

Silly question coming up:

Did GP2 support 3 axis? How do I set it up?
I just dusted off the old GP2, and it's load of fun - which shows on my poor
GPL ranking...

I can confirm that the Ferrari wheel doesn't work any better than the
others.

Marc.

So in other words, you are not using the split axis configuration.

Marc.
