I"ve been playing GPL for AGES!!!

I can get 36 fps easy....

333 Celeron
Voodoo 2

BUT.. when I get online...  I can still get 36 fps..  but every now and
then I get 33fps SOLID!!!    No slow down cos of graphics.. just slows
down.. and I can actually notice the diff...

It only happens during online racing....   must be to do with
connection.. but I've tried default modem setup...  tweaked modem
setup...  nothing..

New Voodoo 2 drivers...   tried 2.53  ...   stilla  prob..  works great
offline..

Any one els with the prob??

Any fixes??

I've got teh glide2x.dll  (or what ever) in the GPL folder..

Any help would be cool.

If you have a Winmodem this could be due to CPU overhead to drive the
modem.  If not, it is probably due to serial timing needed to
communicate with the modem (USB could improve this see
http://vroc.net/common/stuff.htm#usb).

The other thing you might try is to use the glidewrapper and set your
mirrors to refresh every other frame.

Yep; I've seen the same, with a C450/V2 setup.  Where I usually get
max FPS, it sometimes drops down to about 33 at times, and it feels
choppy.  Even at the same point, same track, same conditions where I
typically get 36.  It's got something to do with a poor connection to
the host, I figure, as I usually end up getting disco'ed from races
where I see this happen, even with sub-.300 pings.
