Recently installed N1999. The sound sucks big time! Anyone else had this

Nope. the sound is great on my SBPCI64.

Yes! Whenever the AI get around me their engine sounds are scratchy as
hell. Does this with the dos,rendition, 3dfx and the win95 exe's. I have an
AWE32. Regular N2 with the BGN pack is fine.
Even did a re-install with no improvements.

I guess I should have said the sound is OK, just no volume. By comparison
I only have to crack the sound a small amount in Nascar2.

I have an SB Audio64D and the sound in n99 has a lot to be desired, comes in
real low, turn it up and it is real scratchy. Don't have that problem at
all with N2 or anything else for that matter.

Ya, I don't know what to make of that. I run the 3dfx DOS version because I
do modem racing with a friend and the sound is fine for me. Are you running
the DOS or Win verison?

I had the same problem using 3DFX windows version. However, running the
3DFX DOS version solved my sound problems. I don't know what's causing the
problem in windows.

This is a well known problem to everyone except Papyrus, who still
apparently think there is nothing wrong. It has been mentioned here a few
dozen times in the past, but no word of a patch or fix from Papy.
