Voodoo 2 Driver Question

Voodoo 2 Driver Question

by Paul Hamilt » Wed, 08 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I downloaded the GPL demo yesterday, and though I admittedly have
less-than- required system (133/40meg/Monster II), I was very
disappointed when the game was only running about 2fps.

So I've been reading the notes on here hoping to see if I can figure
out the problem and someone posted a note about the new drivers on
Voodoo2.com so I got them and started to install them, but there's a
problem.

The README with the files says that you need to go to the reference to
the card, double click on the card then click on the driver tab.  The
problem is that there isn't a driver tab to click on, only general and
performance.  I do have a set of drivers installed -- the ones that
came with the card -- so would it help to install these new drivers,
and if so, how do I do it?

TIA

I downloaded the new drivers, and it fixed all my graphic ills with the
demo.  Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager, then scroll down to
"sound, video and game controllers".  Click on the "+" and you should see
your 3d V2 card listed.  Double click the V2 card listing and it will open
the "properties dialog box.  Choose the "driver tab" and choose "update
drivers" then point out the location of the driver update by using the
"browse" option.  Hope this helps, it worked for me.
