Voodoo-1 vs. Voodoo-2 on P-II

This has probably been discussed before, but will a Voodoo-2 card show any
increased performance over a Voodoo-1 on a PII-233, or does it only show up
on the latest, super-fast P-IIs?

  I just upgraded my PII-266 machine from a V1 to a V2 and saw about a
4fps increase in GPL.  To be honest, that's about all I was expecting.  It
seems that V2's dont't really start strutting their stuff unless you have
a PII-300 or above.  Tom had a good article about this at
www.tomshardware.com.  I don't know if it's still there, but you may want
to check.
I purchased my card because I have a CPU/MoBo upgrade slated for
February or March when I get my tax refund.

It depends on the game. I upgraded my P166 with V1 to a V2 and get very
little fps increase in games like GPL and F1RS because they make the CPU
slow down. In games like Forsaken I went from about 30fps to +60fps. Also
with a V2 you can run 800x600 resolution and in NFS3 you cant see the
dashboard unless you have a 12mb V2. I would get the V2 12mb. I got a M3d II
12mb retail version from NCbuy.com for $213.00 + $6.50 shipping ,no tax
(because out of state sale) and $50.00 rebate for a total of $169.50. It
arrived the next day.
Good Luck
