I have two PC's with virtually the same specs:
Both are Intel P166 w/32mb Ram, Intergraph Reactor video cards with
the ver 113 Win95 drivers(12/17/96) and the ver 74 bios(12/17/96).
Monster 3D with 1.05 drivers, Sound Blaster 16. Both PC's use the
joystick port on the Sound Blaster. One machine has a TSW steering
controller, the other T2 w/adapter. I did a full Nascar 2 re-install
on both machines in new directories(to leave my original/very patched
versions intact). Then I applied the appropriate patches to the
freshly installed Nascar 2 directories. I usually run the RENDDMA.BAT
from a boot to DOS. On the machine with the TSW everything seems to be
working fine so far. On the machine with the T2, when I run
RENDDMA.BAT, the computer locks up and shows a frame of colored pixels
at the top of the screen. I verified that both machines are showing
the Rendition certified drivers(as opposed to Microsoft). I had
experienced a similar "looking" problem with Indycar 2 3D when a
games' Direct X install had overwritten the Rendition drivers.
However, this was not the problem in this case. In fact NASREND.EXE
would run the game fine on the machine with the T2. When I run
RENDDMA.BAT from my original N2 installation it still runs fine as
well. I have not figured what the difference is between the 2 machines
or the 2 Nascar versions(outside of the PATCH). I have copied the
directory from the working machine to the hard drive of the
non-working machine and still have the same problem. Running
RENDDMA.BAT from a DOS boot always seemed to give me the best frame
rate performance so I would like to get it working again, but I have
run out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions or experiencing a
similar problem?

As a side note for T2 owners:
I have run two 10% races at Talladega with the T2 machine, running
from a DOS boot with the NASREND.EXE, and have not experienced any
lurching whatsoever. I also ran about 30 min. worth of practice laps
at Atlanta and had no problems as well. Again, the specs here are
T2(blue metal plate version) with adapter running from Sound Blaster
16 game port. I have yet to try running from Win95 to see if the
lurching problem appears there.
