F1 2001 - setup saving problem

OK, a new and very irritating problem with F1 2001.  In the car setup menus,
if you make a change or changes to test out, when you go back into the setup
screens, the changes you've made disappear!  You have no idea what they were
unless you've written it down on paper!  It always reverts to the defined
'favourite' setup. So, unless you save the setup file every time, you're in
trouble!
This will have to be fixed as the filing system could become totally
unmanagable especially as the program won't allow sub-folders to be used.

I agree on this. The setup menu needs work. It makes me suspect that since
the setups aren't divided by track/chassis, that perhaps they don't mean a
whole lot. My testing seems to show that a good A1 setup will sufffice
almost everywhere. Maybe change the gearing a little.

As a 'medium' setup an A1 setup will do for average laptimes -
but you surely want a slightly different setup on Monaco and
Hockenheim I think :)

The setup options in F1 2001 are great and influence the car like they
should, no problem with that - it's just the saving system of the
setups that SUCKS.

A setup editor could be an option but it's damn difficult to write one. ISI
has encrypted the setups, with natural numbers such as 12, 25, 4, 5, etc. ,
so that it's pretty hard to write a setup editor. Which means that we better
have our pencil and paper ready when trying to compare our setup with
someoneelse's. It's a step back for me after F1CS2K.

I didn't like the way ISI has prepared the setup pages. First, the "Save",
"Load" and "Sort" facilities are probably the worst in all simulation
history, as you guys pointed out. Even F1CS2K was better in this department.
Second, ISI still refuses to use sliders for damper settings and gear
ratios.

Naah, I didn't like the setup pages. None of them. On top of that, I also
cannot understand the reasoning behind describing the tire temperatures as
shades of colour. I was quite happy with the digital readout. It was
accurate at least.

ISI, can you hear me ?
