I have just upgraded my system to a K6-3/450 and V3/3000 specifically
for GPL, however I am a little disappointed with the frame rates. I am
running an Epox MVP3E-m motherboard and at the Glen I get about 15-17
fps at the start rising to about 30fps in the race. This is at
1024x768 with all graphics options. I thought I should get higher than
this??
I am using the latest glide2x 2.61. When I try and replace it with ver
2.53 GPL won't accept 3dfx as the 3D accelerator.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try putting the detail slider down to 2 thirds maximum and switching off the
texture in the mirrors. With my new V3 2000 bought today to replace a Riva
TNT I found it made about 8 fps difference on the starting line without
making any obvious on-screen difference.
