V3 2000 <-> V3 3000 difference..

V3 2000 <-> V3 3000 difference..

by Andrew Busc » Fri, 10 Mar 2000 04:00:00

Hello again,
Exactly how much better is the Voodoo3 3000 than the 2000 (both AGP)?  I
know the 3000 runs at a higher clock, but from what I've read,
overclocking the 2000 is quite safe, and brings it almost to the speed.
Are there any other major differences between the two?  I'd rather not pay
the extra $100 if the difference is negligible..

thanks,
Andrew

Of course, you can also overclock the 3000. I run mine comfortably at
190mhz. It also has TV out (fun to play with). There's only $20 difference
in price between the two, about $80 for the 2000 and $100 for the 3000. If
you've got the extra 20  bucks  to spend, the choice should be easy.

i run my v3 2000 at 192 mhz fine (v3 3500is 183 mhz ...).It seems that Siemens
memory chips are not so overclockable.Prefer Hyunday or Vanguard memory (with
a triangle on the chips...).
