Microsoft FF Wheel not listed under game control applet

Hi All,

I just installed a MSFF Wheel (usb) but the game controller applet does not
list it.

The system is a PII 350, 128MB, TNT Riva AGP & Voodoo II, SB Live, NDC NIC,
Win98SE, Directx 7.0a.

The system applet sees the device under install game controllers, sound, video
devices.

The Directx utility sees the device.

I reinstalled the drivers and directx 7.0a numerous times.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem.......many thanks from my son since
it is his birthday gift
