CPR locks up in pits!!

In 3Dfx mode CPR locks up in pits, but when I play D3D all works fine!! D3D
is good too but 3Dfx mode is faster so anyone could solve this problem??

My system is PII 266mhz,64sdram,CL 12meg voodoo2
