jk - a Pentium 133mhz would do just fine, with 32mb memory and a good solid
connection....it doesnt require graphics or anything, so ya dont need
anything special.

Ed, the book says 22k per driver hosted. 256/22=11.64 So I would have to say
that if you hosted a race yourself (taking you out of the head count) that
you could probably only hold onto 11 drivers with any consistency.
I used a cable connection to test it out this weekend and my cable host
tests (at dslreports.com) at 384k up (2MB down) so my theoretical limit was
17.45 drivers. I setup a dedicated server for 15 guys and filled up the box
a couple of times with no major problems. The only warpage observed were due
to client connection issues, not the server bandwidth. Once we got 15 stable
connections hooked up, everything was normal (ie: decent racing with just a
couple of random spikes here and there, no one got booted and no warp wrecks
happened...)
To host 25 guys the theoretical requirement would be around 550k upstream, I
would want 600k to be safe.
