Haven't read any posts about slow player starts, I lose about 8 positions
every time. I've tried gearing but without any luck.
Anyone have any advise other than "lost reflexes", "washed up".....because I
already know that :-)  TIA

A bug...Papy adjusted the AI starts just before release, but reportedly
didn't fully test the settings.  Alison Hine's AI files may help in this
regard.  http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison

Cheers!

Marc

At first I got left behind at the start but with an analog clutch and a bit
of practice I can keep up until I crash in the turns. Like in most any race
car you need high rpm and a lot of clutch slipping. Throttle assist made it
even worse.

You should be able to okay with a "digital" clutch as well.  I have
assigned one of the buttons on my TM NASCAR Pro for the clutch and can
make a much better start than some of the AI who seem to stall on the
starting grid.

I assumed that GPL's AI doesn't suffer from cold tires at race starts,
as was the case in ICR2.

Is there any evidence to suggest otherwise?  In my limited racing
against the AI (most of my time has been spent racing humans) they
tend to tear away at the start, and after a lap or so I get to catch
up to and pass them....well...some of them.
