Can anybody explain to me why gpl ran slower on my
system with the voodoo5 instead of the voodoo3 i had.
My system is:

192 megs of ram
Voodoo3 3000 agp
sb live value
(2) 10.2 gig quantum's with a raid controller

I tried it with fsaa off and on and it just ran slower than my
voodoo3 card and thats with the latest drivers and everything.
Does anybody have any ideas, i think i read somewhere that
somebody else was having a similiar problem and that maybe
only one of the chips was working and not both.

I remember reading somewhere that the voodoo5 does benchmark slower on most
celerons for some reason.
But apparently with P3's and athlons it is faster.

It's one of life's great mysteries. I use D3D instead of glide now.

If you are using 3dfx drivers that are dated approximentally Feb 2000 you
should see the fastest setting working properly.  Most likely earlier
drivers fixed that as well, but the first release had that bug where the
single chip setting was faster than the setting that was 'supposed' to be
the fastest.  2xfsaa is usually a sweet spot for GPL.  GPL does put a drain
on your CPU first so if that is barely squeaking by, then the vid card will
be slowed as well.

When I upgraded from a V3 3000 AGP to V5 5500 AGP, GPL also got about 1 fps
slower for me (race-starts).  I also found GPL didn't benefit at all from
the 'fastest-performance' setting and that it was slightly faster on
'single-chip'.
