GPL & Voodoo5 with FSSA crashes computer

I just got a NEW Voodoo5 to replace my Voodoo3.  I have a clean install on my
new computer (1G PIII, Asus TUSL2-C MB, 512 ram) with the 1.2 Patch.  But if I
use FSSA anit-aliasing, then GPL just goes to a black screen and won't come
back to Win98SE without a reboot.  Also using DirectX 8.1.  Could that be the
problem, and if so what version should I use and where can I get it.  Or maybe
it's something else.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve in Utah

Go here  http://www.voodoofiles.com  and get the 3dfx Version 1.04.01 BETA
(these are the last ones from 3dfx)
or one of the other 3rd party drivers based on the 1.04.01s.  FSAA was
broken in GPL with some of the earlier
versions of drivers.

I never got GPL to work with DX8.1.  Reverted to 8.0 and now run at 1600 with
no FSAA rock solid 36fps with everything on but arms and wheel.  There are a
few add-on tracks which slow down a bit, I just reduce the detail slider a bit
for those.

What drivers are you using?
Are you running 2x or 4x FSAA?

Thanks all. It's now working in both 4x & 2x with 1.08.04 drivers.

I haven't had any problems running GPL ver1.2 using DX8.1 with my
Voodoo5 5500AGP card.  I'm runing the beta 1.04.01 drivers.

Well, that shows how much I know.  Maybe it's time I gave it a try again.
