I've got a short MPEG clip from a website of Jackie Stewart commentating
on an in-car film from the old Nurburgring, must be 1974-75ish.

It looks awesome, but does anyone know if this is part of a longer video
of the full lap?

And is it available from anywhere? I'd love to add it to my collection of
Nurburgring videos.

Thanks,

- Michael

Hi !
I think it's at:       http://members.home.net/f1gallery/movies.html
It must be Stewart.mov at the bottom of the page.
Correct me if I'm wrong!     :-)

Is that the movie in which you see a part of the Ring from the
driver's view, with another car in front? And that Austin Powers music
in the background?

If that's the movie your referring to, I believe it's from a video
call 'The history of motor racing', available at Duke.

Just downloaded the movie at
http://members.home.net/f1gallery/movies.html. We weren't talking
about the same movie, don't know from which tape this video is from.

Hi Andre!

Do you mean bergwerk.zip at the bottom of:

         http://www.boers.com/In-Car.htm  ??

It's Hubert Hahne in his F2 BMW.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!       ;-)

Greetings

says...

That's the one - good isn't it? JS certainly talks as though he's
commentating on a full lap. I like the bit about not being able to
transfer his foot from throttle to brake as he went through the
compression at the bottom of Fuchsrohre:-)

You sure about that, Klaus?
Looks vaguely like Austin in his E-type!

Just to add my 2 pennyworth, the video of Hahne in the BMW is from
'Ringmasters'. It's a great little movie made by Castrol about the '67
German GP - essential viewing for all GPL fans. You can get it at Duke
video.

I remember seeing Ringmasters on Speedvision once.  I think it was before GPL
came out but being the classic racing buff that I am, i watched it anyway.  Too
bad i didnt tape it; i really would like to see it again.

Chris

PS- Note to anyone with Spirit of Speed fever: check SPV for the "Silver Arrows
from Zwickau" program they ran several times this summer.  All about the old
Auto Union team...VERY fascinating program.

If thta' s the clip I think it is... its just a short clip.  I have seen him
comentate a lap of his for what samed like a few minutes once on tv
though.... If anyone knows where I could score a 'puter version of that, I
would be increadably grateful.

I ve a TV capture card and the 'In Car 956' tape
http://www.videoshop.co.uk  ) it includes a lap at the nurburg in a Porsche
956

can someone tell me how can I capture MPEGs ?

the software included with the TV card only allows me to capture AVIs, and
if they are longer than 2 mins, it starts to lost frames (???)
