Why isn't he featured with the BRM team in GPL?  He did drive for them in
'67 didn't he???  And it's not like he's an unknown...

I'm sure he had the opportunity and chose not to be a part of it.  His
loss...

It's called "licensing". Or lack thereof.

He probably wanted more money than Papyrus was willing or able to pay.

Wouldn't be hard to put him in the driver.ini file, if you knew the history
well enough to be accurate in his abilities. (Which I don't.)

Maybe he refused to sell his name for the game, like Jacques
Villeneuve in F1RS ... That's something I hate :-(

One has to wonder why they didn't license another "jacques Villeneuve"- not
even say his uncle- just some guy from canada with the same name ;)

Sure no helmet... but the idea is interesting....

And maybe it has to do with other licenses and contracts he already has
signed with other companies.  It maybe that they are the ones that are
preventing his "likeness" from appearing in GPL.  Jackie's got quite a
few irons in the fire.

shoot, i'll put him in mine and make him as sorry-assed as i can so i can laugh
at him every time i come up and lap him for not being a good sport and allowing
GPL to use his likeness.

is he the only guy that drove in 67 that is still alive? if not, have any of
the drivers commented on GPL at all?

Don't know about comments but, a few are still alive - Sir Jack Brabham, Dan
Gurney, and John Surtees all come immeidiately to mind.  Hulme and Hill did
survive F1 Hill was killed in a plane crash and Hulme died of a heart attack
(while racing a saloon car I think) a year or so back.

I thought I saw Jack Brabham listed in the on-screen credits.

It was quite a few years ago now, maybe 10, I'm not sure.  Denny was
racing in the 1000km touring car race at Bathurst, Australia.  I
remember because I was watching the race on TV.

:) But it wouldn't work. Same as if you tried to contract some Mr.
Macdonald to use his name for your new burger chain. It would still be
some sort of copyright infringement.

I fail to see how. Villeneuve can not assume ownership of the copyright for
his name based on other people being born and quite legally being called
Jacques Villeneuve. His likeness, nor indeed his helmet would be in the game,
so i fail to see how he could do anything.

Anyway, it's a moot point now, as the FIA have slapped the wrists of drivers,
and now that cannot withhold it for licensed products of the FIA.
