FF Seats Anybody ???

Hi All !!

I have recently p/u the Logitech Formula NON Force for GPL, F1RS etc..only
cause the price was just right and I desperetly needed the dual axis for the
proper gas/pedal effect. ( Too bad the pedals are no where as accurate as my
old CH Pedals)

So far what Ive read here is lots of FF wheels trying to get out of its
infancy.

At a glance they are kinda cool but I cant justify the cost so far(ok so Im
cheep).

To me anyhow the FF wheel  feels "arcadish". - not that there is anything
wrong w/ this for games/sims such as NFS, Viper, F1RS.

BUT I ask the sim group why not have in addition to the FF wheel and now
even the new RS stick shift( HEY Logitech how bout one for the Formula ?)
a seat/back pad that works w/  a driving sim/game.

As every driver knows feeling the car from ur ***end and also the base of
ur back is important.

So why hasnt anybody tried this for a sim ?

My idea would be based on a vibrating/massage seats that u can get for ur
car or office chair.

Apart form the usual engine vibration, crash, tapping jolts ur suppose to
get,  it would nice to have the vibration "move" fore and aft. WHat I mean
is say when one acelerates the vibrations move from the back of the knees up
to the base of ur back - of course it would go the opposite when one applies
the brakes. This I believe would be great for those trail brake moves since
I can now feel the braking as well as see it since the vibrations would move
according to the imput u give to the brakes or go pedal.

Is this idea unreasonable ?
I mean a flight sim would benifit too with a seat I just discribed.

Has there been an attempt already ? Anybody know a site  ?
If not I might take a shot at it .......

About the only thing close to force feedback for your
***would be one of those aurora (i think) vibrating
pillows that plug into your sound card.  I heard they
also make a seat but I'm dubious about the value of
an entire seat just for subwoofer thumps in my back.

For accelerating and braking, the ideal would be a
tilting armchair that leans back when you accelerate
and forward under brakes.  Tilting sideways around
corners would give you some nice fake lateral g's.

It would need fixtures to put your wheel and pedals so
you could still reach them but imagine being thrown
backwards and sideways as you power out of a corner.

Do those seats move? I didn't think they did...
I also think you missed the part where he said he's cheap... :)

hey,

i've got the exact thing you described. it's called Aurora Interactor vest. it's
simply a subwoofer that's strpped to your back and vibrates. it's very cheap in
Australia it's only $40. it's not too bad and it's worth the money. Works
wonders with driving and shooting games.

I've tried the hyperstim and they use a similar, if not the same system.

yes, the seat moves.

hope it helped you.

No one makes a seat that moves. A couple of companies make seats that vibrate by
using tactile inducers. I simply attached a subwoofer to the back of the seat in
my***pit. Feels good.
Heres a company with inducers  http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Of course Hypers with a seat shaker   http://www.racesimcentral.net/; < US
distibutor
   hypers Canadian distributor >    http://www.racesimcentral.net/./
   hyper Austrailia  > http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Or you can make your own***pit for less than $50, and a tactile inducer for
$30.
