I cannot stress enough the need for practice, especially with the sim
handling so radically different from NR2K2.

The <fast> setup is quite loose if you're not absolutely smooth on
and off the gas and brakes. If you find yourself going into a turn to
hot, it's quite likely that the bad situation will only get worse.

Well, what about Daytona? Can't we squeeze that race in before Saturday?

I sent Ed a schedule page that explains everything.  It's best to
just put Daytona out of your head for now.

I agree with John.
Practice is a must here. I've been doing laps here and it's very easy
to lose the back end entering the turns with the fast setup.
Easy off, easy on.
Once you get a rythym it goes fairly well.

Is qualifying done using "Fast" as well, or is it the "Qualify" setup?

John,
Are we going to run a "happy hour" at our races?

How many people would have time to run during the week after 5pm eastern?  Now
many, I'd bet...

I think normally, we get 5 minutes, but I'm sure Eldred can be talked
into something longer. :)

I for one would actually like something *shorter*...
I join these event to race - not to practice!

I was actually going to syggest that we shorten the practice session down to
20 minutes...  So that practice, qual and happyhours could all be done with
within 30mins or so...

Not many europeans for sure.. cause 5pm  EST  =  11pm CET.... Meaning the
race would finish about 1:00 AM my time...

I'll post John proposed schedule on the site tonight.

I would go for that, but I really don't think 10 minutes is gonna
matter much in the grand scheme of things.  Afterall, we're starting
the races four hours earlier than last year.

Some people are just never happy.... :)

5 or 10 min is fine.  Really the only additional practice I do during
Happy Hour is practicing getting on and off pit road and finding my
pit box.  If people feel like we should have more practice time we
should bump up the normal practice time and leave happy hour alone,
that way anyone that doesn't want to spend 90 min practicing can just
join later.
