Nascar Legends Opinions ..

I have BOTH Nascar 3 and Nascar Legends and happen to like Nascar
Legends more.  Problem is , that no one seems to want to race online
with the legends cars -- perhaps they find it more difficult than
Nascar 3 (which it is, by the way) since the chassis setups have to be
absolutely perfect to make the tires last for the entire tankful.

I see NL all over the local computer store, so I am suspecting
there should be more online racers soon -- at least I hope so.

It would be a waste to see such a great sim go to hell by now
being utilized to its utmost.  GPL was the same way, but it got
patched and modified to the point where it is almost unplayable among
the masses ---------- shame.

Hopefully the latest Nascar sims won't fall victim to this.

I know what you mean.  I too have both titles, and I prefer NL myself.
Seems everytime I log on & try racing online, there's nothing going on
so I have to shut it down & either go N3, GPL, or DTR racing instead.  I
just wonder.  Are there a lot of people like us?  Are we all logging in,
looking around & seeing nothing, and leaving?

Tell me what patch and addition makes GPL unplayable more than the first
version?  There was none.  In fact the additions make is MORE easy for the
masses to race.  With the online aspect like the defunt GSB and now WINVroc,
you can have access to experienced online drivers who will help you become a
better driver, telling you tips, URL's and better setups. You will have
access to online racing with F2 and F3 cars.

Back to NL, I am happy but at the same time sad that the online racing (and
the overall selling of the product) hasn't been successful.  First of all it
shows that slapping a NASCAR product doesn't mean instant success and that
someday they SHOULD try another sort of racing than Stockcar racing.  But at
the same time, NL is a quality title, the best after GPL.  I really wish
other titles would had bombed instead of it.

When the official N3 patch will be released (and the possible NL patch
also), you will see an increase of online racing.  A good portion of NL
users also have N3 and they rather spend more time in N3 at the moment for
many reasons.  When the official patched N3 will have a direct link to the
NL multiplayer section, people will race it more I am sure.

I think Nascar Legends online racing is like a new night club.  Nobody wants
to go because there is nobody there yet.  And there won't be anybody there
until a lot of people go and stay, hehe.  And the only people that are there
are the prople that want to be there regardless.

I think that the previous poster meant that if someone bought the game, but
didn't access this group or similar, then they wouldn't know that patches
were available. Without the current patch, I believe you can't race online?
Therefore the patches have made the online game unplayable for those that
don't have the patches!
There now, isn't that much clearer ??   :-))

Cheers..

Ummm, I would assume that if one attempts to play online (and thus
encounters incompatibilities) one could also download the patch
online, no?

The first patch did cause some serious problems for some people
(particularly the PCI modem/frame rate bug), but they seem to have
been fixed with the second patch.
