        NOOOO NOOOO NOOOO

They DID Falesly Advertise. Their GP2 homepage (before they
released it) said stuff about "Changing Weather patterns" and also
something about Marshalling. I'm afraid The weather doesn't change and
the Marshalling has been on par with the Weather (never changes)

If they half finsihed a product like they did with GP2 why
shouldn't they go ahead and fully complete it. I'm sure it wouldn't be
that hard for them professionals.

If Microprose don't treat this properly they will lose a lot of
trust from a lot of gamers who had faith in Miroprose, like myself.

Yes i do feel ripped off about not having those things included
in the game. The Data logger and performance charts are no real
development. People like Trevor Kellaway and others had those things made
for GP1, i'm sure Microprose only included them this time cause they
already existed. Whats more they didn't credit anyone for taking their
ideas!

Thats my two cents worth (which sometimes seems more than the way
Microprose are hadnling it)

I think that's known as "exaggerating", perhaps even SEVERE
exaggerating.

It's no wonder MPS is on the brink of extinction. GP2 is a pretty good
sim, BUT, there is nothing wrong about questioning MPS about promises
made about a product that don't materialize when it is released. No
matter what you think about what might be the better sim, ICR2, NASCAR
or GP2, MPS support stinks!!!! I too asked for a patch disk for WC by
mail as I was modemless at the time, Nothing ever came despite 2
letters and a promise over the phone they would send a disk.
Papyrus has never failed to send a patch disk after I requested one,
and it arrived very quickly. Although the Sierra deal has, in my
opinion, watered down Papyrus' rep for good support, MPS doesn't
feel they owe customers anything after the purchase. MAY MPS die an
unly death and Geoff Crammond find a job with Papyrus so we can live
in sim heaven forever. Amen.

I think you miss the point. Microprose made  these statements. The
biggest was it was going to be IPX network play. That is the reason I
bought it. If it is not made available to the public then it is
disapointing news to me. All the same mags do and can also get it
wrong so we just have to wait and see.  You are right and you cant
please all the masses but most companys do listen to reasonable
moaning and do act if valid. After all we are the people who keep
there familys fed...

I wish that I would have known about the nocdrom crack before I bought the CD.  I would
have borrowed my friends' CD, used the utility and that would be the end of it.  For
those of you interested in the game, but havn't purchased it yet, go search the web
for -gp2-, follow the links untill you find the file nocdrom.zip.

Pardon my ignorance, but what was the big news that this thread has
been going on and on about.  My power has been out for several
days so I'm a bit behind in my current events.

Insult folks on the newsgroups?  That's the pot calling the kettle black,
ain't it? And where do you get your statistics that "most folks feel that
way (unsatisfied)"?  The McNair-Anderson Poll or did you do quick 'phone
around the USA? How about the silent majority out there, who haven't
mentioned anything about the game?

No, I'm not satisfied 100% of the ***y time...far from it...but I don't
BUY a game and then complain like crazy about what is or isn't up to my
expectations.  I find out first.  With your attitude you probably buy a car
without first testing it!

If you want to complain...do so to the publishers/programmers. They're the
people who can change things, not us!

RG> Are you satisfied 100% of the time?

No.....but very pleased/impressed/etc by it all the same.

RG> I paid good money for GP2 and I want too be satisfied with it. So
RG> far Im quite unhappy with it... seems most folks feel that way.

I also paid good money - and am very happy with it.....as John Wallace
suggested I think your latter statement is, at best, gross exageration.

When it comes to it - sure there are always bits and bobs you can pick
over - the overall product is very fine......technically excellent, well
produced and very entertaining.

OK - it'd be nice if it had wet weather......but I can live with a damn
fine dry-conditions-only sim MUCH better than I could with a seriously-
undriveable wheels-glued-to-the-track sim like ICR2 pre-patch.....how
long did it take them to sort that???!!!

I've driven a lot of F1GP, ICR, Nascar, ICR2 and now GP2 miles - and
expect to continue this trend. NONE of them have been anywhere near
perfect, ALL have open to major criticisms if you are so-minded. But
I've enjoyed them all FOR WHAT THEY ARE.....rather than winging about
what they are not.

Enjoy???!!!    B-)

Cheers!

Well that is very well put John and sometimes when we are sent verbal
garbage we retaliate to
a certain extent. The fact of the matter is that I think that everyone
deserves a fair
reply but when you have to keep repeating yourself over and over
especialy with some of
the immature rantings some of these guys repost with,......well
sometimes it seems vulgarity
is the only "language" they can understand. I do agree with you.
