CPR-RACING?

CPR-RACING?

by Tom Peterse » Wed, 12 Nov 1997 04:00:00

I've read many posts regarding CPR with great interest and have been
playing the demo for about a week myself.  Many posts about graphics,
steering control, and AI, but not much about  actual races against a field
of cars.  I realize that most posters are demo users like myself and maybe
spend a lot of time hot lapping too.  But I know there are a couple hundred
full-up versions out there somewhere.  Have seen one post that says the
start at Milwaukee with 26 cars is unmanageable/unplayable.
Similar or different experiences?

In the trial version with just 3 other cars, the situation is no better.
You are routinely taken out buy the AI cars.  So racing may be
a new experience alright :-)

CPR-RACING?

Similar experiences, Tom.
The more cars chosen to race against, the slower and slower the
frame-rate becomes.
The AI cars don't appear to 'race'....they cruise around at odd speeds
(speeding up here....slowing down there) as if on a Sunday drive.  if I
am overtaking then the AI car appears to jump across in front of me and
if I am being overtaken the AI prefers to ram me from behind!
Most peculiar and certainly not a "race", in my book.

This product appears to be okay for single-driver time trials....that's
about all.

Bruce.
