I am interested in purchasing a Reactor card. First off, it seems some
people have a little problem with installation. Has anyone found that it
seems to prefer a certain IRQ? Second, how does it preform with GP2 and
third, how does it work with Descent 1 and 2?

I installed it onto a Tyan Tomcat 1 motherboard (replacing an ATI Graphics Pro
Turbo) with no problems at all. Existing cards include two Adaptec 2940 SCSI
controllers, and a Soundbalster 16 (not PNP).
1) Can't comment about GP2, as I really don't like open-wheel racing.
However, the card comes bundled with ICR2 which (despite its
open-wheel nature) is much nicer to drive than NCR1.
2) Descent 1 and 2 run at least as good with the Reactor as they did
with the ATI. YMMV.
