I read somewhere that Papy are finally going to venture into the console
arena.  It makes sense too since X-Box and N4 are using DX8.  This may not
be a Papy thing though, it just says Sierra.

Right you are :)  MS must have paid to have their XBOX tab all lit up like
that.
The title is "NASCAR RACING 2002 SEASON PC"
so it sounds like a season pack for N4 and not N5

The Febuary release date jibes with the French Sierra site that had Nascar
5 being released early in the year and GPL 72 in the Fall.  I would suspect
that Papyrus is coding both PC & Console and that it will be published and
marketed under the Sierra name on the consoles.
(just my guess...)
And it DOES say 2002 season, which implies a minor update at best.
Methinks you won't see much different from N4 except the car/driver changes
for the new season...and most likely the new tracks that didn't make it in
N4.

I think you are "right on" there, Dave.  That jives with us being contacted
by Papy a few months back to provide the new specs on the WC Chute...and the
track TSO (terracing and removal of foot bridges, etc.) changes....for what
they called, "N5" (they said it was a working title).  We laughed and told
them we'd just send them the new track in N3.....since that's what we used
to design the current WC Chute......they didn't think that was funny.

Hey Tom, I saw a web page of a company that sells wheels and pedals.
They just announced a new set of pedals for somewhere in the range of
$395.  Anyway, they had a logo VERY similar to your indy car logo (the
red/green/blue/yellow profile outline).  Is that your company?

N2.5 had a better damage model than N4.     ;)

At least there will be new tracks to test "hang time" on.

LOL

I actual took the whole front end of a Mopar hitting the pitwall at Richmond
in NASCAR Legends last night. I have not even seen that at a Super Speedway
in N4.

So true :)  Had a league race Monday night at Watkins Glen.  40%,
realistic damage, sim mode, etc.  Leader is behind two side by side slower
cars going down the frontstretch.

One of the slower cars to early going into T1R, and the leader hits him
from behind just past the line.  Slower car gets airborne, and stays in the
air, ALL the way until he lands in/by the sand trap in T1R.
Leader had hit him so hard, that his front clip is destroyed, and the
force puts the car on it's rear end vertically like a rocket, destroying the
rear clip.  IOW, car rocked back and forth like a see-saw, lol.

No big deal.  Leader pits, repairs made, and he goes on to win the race
anyway.

Should of had an undriveable car.  Oh well, at least the slower car didn't
get airborne from a 10-20 mph hit for a change :)
