NASCAR 2002: TIRED OF RECALIBRATING YOUR WHEEL WHEN YOU START PAPYRUS/SIERRA
NASCAR:

As you all know I am a slow learning.. lol    Ever since I got NASCAR I have
had to very very often recalibrate my

wheel after I start up the game.   I finally found the solution to my
problem.  As it turns out when you start the

game done ever click on the PAPYRUS NASCAR 2002 LOGO, etc.. Screen..
Apparently when this screen

is up the software is talking in some way with your steering controls,,
If you click the screen you can

bypass the screen..  But you will be required to RECALIBRATE the wheel very
very often..   Just

some help....

A more likely cause is the "short" calibration.

If when the game starts up, the pedals, or wheel is out of the current
calibration range the program could think the cause is a different
controller and therefore require another round of calibration.

Try putting the controlls well within the calibrated range and then start
the game.   I'd wager at least a couple of e-cents that the problem will go
away.

Don's right, any click of the mouse after you launch N2002 and before it loads the game will result in you having to recalibrate.
Try it for yourself.

loads the game will result in you having to recalibrate.
I'll tell ya the worst thing for that - you're in ICQ, or MSN, and you set
up a multi player, and tell your pal the pw, maybe, and start the game. If
he replies, and you click on the message while N2002 is firing up, you'll
have to recalibrate. This has happened so many times to me, and the message
from the other guy is *always*  just two little letters...'ok'.  And yet,
and yet...what if I hadn't clicked on that damn message?
 Frustratingly yours,

Colin....ok?

Great Advice as usual Mike.    My calibration is -512 to +512 on the wheel
and
0 to 64 on gas and brake.    When I dont click the PAPYRUS SCREEN it doesnt
ask me to calibrate ever.   Now when it does as me to calibrate it ask for
calibrations from 0 to 65536 on the wheel...   It alternates between the
+_ 512 and +_ 65536

I cannot see what's the big problem here.....

Just dont click on anything after you've launched (i.e clicked on the icon
or shortcut to launch N2002) N2002!   Dont click on anything and the
"problem" is gone - it's simple as that.

Its funny that I've never once thought to click on anything while the game was loading in the first
place, so I never even knew the problem existed.
