accelerator card to a Voodoo3 card will significantly boost the framerate in
GPL? I have a PII 300 with 96 ram. I'm just seeking general opinions on this
question. Before I go out and buy a Voodoo3.

On my 450a it boosted them enough to allow a higher resolution and more detail, but not to put that
slider all the way over to the right.
Mind you, I like a *solid* 36fps, especially online. If you can put up with startline, crash, and busy
corner drops, full detail racing at 1024x768 is amazing... and 1280x1024 isn't too shabby either!
Oh, I bought a (cheap) V3 2000 AGP. With an old fan attached it runs very solidly at 175MHz rather
than it's default 143, but even at 143 for me it was a cheap evolutionary step for GPL which has also
revolutionised games like Unreal (1280x960 at about 30fps is absolutely amazing) and the Q3Test.
Having said all that, the V2 was very good at 800x600, and given the number of new cards out now
or very soon this is a *great* time to wait a few more weeks for prices to settle and drivers to
mature.

I had been away from this NG for far too long!
