f12001 mirror problem

f12001 mirror problem

by Willard VanderPloe » Sun, 30 Dec 2001 02:28:28

Guys:

I received f12001 as a late christmas pressy and it seems to run fine - with
one exception.

Got it patched with the latest version, however, the mirrors are not drawing
the cars correctly - I can only see a small portion of the cars behind at
best.

Am I missing something in the settings?

System as follows:

Duron 800 on an Asus A7V 133
Geforce2 Ti running 23.11 drivers

do the mirrors work properly with other driver sets?

I don't use the mirrors much, I just use the look behind key if I need to.

I could be that the mirror are very small.  Some F1 drivers say you can't
see much in them at all.?

 If you're getting "line-bands", or gibberish in the mirrors, update
video drivers if you have a (Geforce chipset). F1-2001 recommends
using the Geforce v23.11 drivers.

I'm using the 23.11 drivers and still have the same problem....until the
cars get very close behind.  I can hear them long before I can see them.
But then, they go by me so fast that seeing them......well, its a "relative
thing" and mostly useless....lol...  What a great sim this is (by the way).
As soon as I can manage a sub 1:20 at Silverstone....I'd like to try out the
other F1 modern tracks.....pretty cool stuff.....and I'm definitely "not" a
usual F1 fan.

Thanks Tom;

That's what I'm experiencing with 23.11's as well.

Guess I'll live with it for now and not worry about the mirrors so much.
Probably less important than for GPL anyway, as I hear the multiplayer isn't
so hot.

Willard.
