Having followed the warez scene for a while now, one thing I've
noticed is that there is almost never any difference between the
warez pre-release and the finished version that I have
purchased. As much as the publishers would like the consumer to
belive they are still working on the code during the delay
between the warez release and the actual release a few days or
weeks later, it doesn't happen.
The ISO is out today and I'm sure its the same as the final. GP3
will not be changing, until the first patch that is.

I hear hasbro doesn't do patches, if that's the case this game will go back
on the shelf for a lot of people.

Are you finding it to be bug-ridden, because it seems pretty much bug free
for me.  That could just be down to having different hardware though.

I hear that Hasbro has at least admitted the control setup problem
for 3-axis wheels/sticks, which is also in the final version that mags
got for their reviews. A patch is being worked on, they say.

Remember, you heard it on the Usenet so it must be true! ;-)

And if a patch is released it will most likely render all the warez versions
useless, or at least useless for multiplayer if it ever works...

Hehe, if it ever works , that's right. :-)
But remember, even patches get "warez'ed".

Hehe. But seriously, you'd think with the huge finacial success GP2
was, the budget for GP3 would have been somewhat higher than it
appears to be, with the small number of improvements.
Oh well, we'll never know. GC doesn't talk to his fans, I wonder
whether he even looked at some input from the user base.
What I do know (from some interview) is that he never looked at any
competitors product, and it shows, unfortunately.

Close, but MS drivers still don't know what to do if you have only one
axis on JoyA and two on JoyB as was the case with my homemade wheel and
CH pedals setup, I propose they use Papy's drivers instead.....

Strange though, my old setup worked like a charm in DOS, there's
progress for you

Your memory serves you incorrectly.  GP2 was a full-ticket game for more
than a year in a lot of markets.  And it sold well at that price.  I bought
my copy in the summer of 1997 for full price, with nary a bargain issue to
be seen.  I have also noticed that it continued to move off the shelves at
almost full price even late last year (based on my informal surveying
techniques while visiting my local shop in Zuerich from time to time).

Your memory serves you incorrectly.  GP2 was a full-ticket game for more
than a year in a lot of markets almost three years in Switzerland.  And it
sold well at that price.  I bought my copy in the summer of 1997 for full
price, with nary a bargain issue to be seen.  I have also noticed that it
continued to move off the shelves at full price even late last year (based

In what country isn that? Chili? In Canada I bought it at a reduced
price only 2-3 months after it's release.
