pure3d, v2 and v3

Hi,

I have a pure3d with a p200mmx, soon to be upgraded to a celeron366.
Should i get myself a v2 now since it's getting cheaper or wait for a
v3 ?

.. considering that 3dfx appears to have no interest in developing
drivers for voodoo1 anymore, no Glide3.0 / directx6.x support.
Will this be  the case with v2 when v3 comes out ?

Will there still be support for v2 .. say in 15months time ?

I don't have a lot of resources so I have to carefully plan the
upgrade. I also don't have the luxury of 30days money back guarantee
or testing out equipments, not to mention the high cost of
international delivery. I usually only rely on reviews and this ng and
then make an informed,thoughtful decision.

Any advice ?

oh ya, I play gpl, f1rs and n2.

regards,
Badrul Hisham

On of my vendors faxed me their "soon-to-arrive" specials that quoted
prices for V3 2000's from around $139 (retail) to around $199 for 3000
(retail - not list).  STB's gonna be the ONLY manufacturer (so far) for the
V3 so I'm pleasantly surprised they're going to priced so competitively.
The V2's'll have to drop soon.  Depends on YOU whether that means wait or
jump (I'd wait).

While STB may be the only manufacturer, one must keep in mind that the
real competition will be other 3D accelerator chipsets and
manufacturers.  3DFX will have to be price competitive if they want to
try to keep their share of the market.
