I really have a very limited grasp on electronics, but I am interested
in building a home made wheel for playing Indy etc. Could some kind
Intelligent electronics wiz, please post me Instructions on how to
build one as I really dont have the money for a T-1

Best if you get yourself a cheap joystick, break it apart and go from there.
You can probably remove the pots from the circuitry and rewire them which
ever way you're planning to configure your steering wheel and gas/brake
pedals and shifters.
