A GPL clutch question on a homemade wheel/pedal system

I have built my own wheel/pedal system that includes a working clutch pedal.
Even though my clutch is built using a pedal with travel, it is actually wired
as a "joystick button".  Thus it is either engaged when it is pushed in or
disegaged when you take your foot off it.  It works fine, but I was wondering
if there would be any real advantage to rebuilding it to use a "joystick axis"
that would need calibration?  It isn't a great task to rebuild it with a
potentiometer, but don't want to bother without some additional benefit.  Thank
you for your response.

A GPL clutch question on a homemade wheel/pedal system

I tried configuring my break pedal as a clutch pedal and then assigning one
of the buttons as a break on my Thrustmaster T2...

It worked great as a clutch, with even more feel than my Ford Probe GT!, but
trying to break with a button that's either on or off was too difficult.

If you can set a clutch up that can be calibrated, then I think you'd have a
real winner!

I've always wondered why Thrustmaster doesn't make it's pedal assembly's
with a clutch? My T2 has a spot for one next to the break pedal, as if they
had planned on making this an option or add-on in the future....

Oh well.... Good luck!
