I have installed CMR on my p2 400, voodoo2 12mb and 128 mb ram.  I have
the glide 2.51 installed and DX6

During the menus the game runs slow i.e. it takes about 5 minutes for
the clock to count up to 60 mins in the car setup sceen before the
rally???

During the rally everything is fine.

Any ideas

I have a similar problem in Rally school - the white board writes it's
characters at the rate of about 1 character every 2/3 seconds - takes ages
to finish...

Have you got the Matrox Millenium 2 as your 2d card?

If so you need to downgrade to the initial drivers you got for that card.

I had this problem of slow menus and using the old drivers fixed it.

If you have a different 2d card there may be a similar issue. This was
actually explained in the readme file for Colin McRae so that may help.

I actually have the millenium 1, but I haven't read the readme file ;) so I
will check that out tonight...

I have a different kind of problem in Rally School. When I've finsished the
first lesson and my car is parked and the voice says we will now take a look
how well I did, the game just stops there. All I can do then is to press a
button of my choice on the keyboard. After that,  the game terminates
automaticly and drops me in Win98.

I'm using a PII-300, 64 MB, Matrox Mystique 220, Orchid Righteous 3D (Voodoo
1) and Directx 6. All the latest drivers for my HW.

Anyone else experienced this problem? I've checked the readme-file, but to
no avail.

Anyone?

I am not gonna take credit for this - some guy mentioned in one of the
newsgroups that dropping the codemasters folder from the install eg:
install to colin macrae rally and NOT codemasters\colin mcrae rally  -
it worked for me.  You must do this in the start/programs menu too so
just delete the codemasters part when the setup gives you the option.

And to someguy - cheers for the tip :)

Change your Mystique drivers back to the original ones that came in the box.
The 411 version on the CD is the problem.
