Colin MacRae - Controller Problems

by Bertram Hoenigman » Thu, 12 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I picked up Colin MacRae Rally on my recent trip to Austria, and I'm
having problems getting it to recognize my TSW Wheel.

I'm all configured properly in Windows, but I get no response from the
accelerator, although the shifters work fine.  I can't tell if the
steering works, though, because I haven't moved.  ;-)

The manual is in German (naturally), and I can't quite decipher the
section on controllers.  At least the readme.txt file and the sounds are
in English, but they don't explain how to get my wheel to work.  (I'd
like to get it to work using split-axis, by the way).

Any help would be appreciated.

CMR doesn't work with split axis, but it should work fine with the TSW
(at least, it works for me!).

If you're using a standard gameport (as opposed to the PDPI) then you
must NOT have the "poll with interrupts enabled" option set, as this
seems to***it up completely (random movements of the wheel when in
the menu screen cause it to choose options all by itself).

I think you need to calibrate the wheel using the Windows game
controller stuff, before entering the game.

One other question, since I'm having trouble deciphering the German manual --
How do I switch the view to***pit view?

Thanks.

Answered my own question -- I figured it out.
