Have you tried turning on the "filtered" option for Direct 3D yet?
It makes A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Go and try it now! :)

So to re-cap: for the D3D switch, make sure you click it once more to
"filtered" and not just "on" ... it'll make you cry with bliss.

Hi,

I am one of those lucky people who had a chance to
play Moto Racer full version.  It is fantastic !
Now, I own a Monster3D, I just wondering if there
are possible command options to enable fogging,
MIP, anti-aliasing ?

If not, it will be real nice if they (BMG ?) can
patch those features for the game :)  Is that
possible anyway ?

Got to do more race.  BTW, I only have a P100 and 32Mram,
and it runs as good as POD ! Very smooth :)

Make sure you have the D3D option set to Filtered, not ON.

Actually, I already did :)  Thanks anyway.   But don't you
think it would be nice to have some fogging effects ?  Also
if they use MIP and anti-aliasing, it would also be nice too :)

Hi Joe,

Just some more questions if you don't mind :)

1)  Can I save those "replay" ?

2)  Can I change the camera angle/position during the "replay" ?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know, I don't own the game yet (nor am I likely too soon,
since it shows no signs of becoming available in North America).

First, those features won't be added to Direct3D until version 5.0
(due in June), so Delphine simply couldn't add them.

Secondly, the Voodoo chip doesn't support anti-aliasing as far as I
know, so your M3D couldn't use it even if it were there.

Yes it does; you can turn on anti-aliasing in 3dfx Tomb Raider. There is a
significant speed penalty associated with AA, though. 3dfx Tomb Raider
without AA is *ALWAYS* 30fps. Tomb Raider with AA is between 20-30fps
depending on where you are.

The 3dfx does not support hardware AA. The AA inside Tomb Raider is a
software based solution.

MIP. What's MIP? By itself it really is nothing to ask for.

The game has just been picked up by BMG interactive in Australia and
should be available in a couple of weeks over here.  It should be a
similar delay in the US.

Its as SW plus HW solution.  The SW assists, the HW does most of the
work - drawing the alphablended pixels etc.

No It doesnt. Direct 3D has no anti-aliasing, fogging or MIP mapping
unfortunatly, and there is no navitve support for any 3d cars in Moto
Racer.

I would just like comment on that last statement you said about not
having any native supprt for any 3D cards ...

Matrox has it's version specially designed for the Matrox Mystique which I downloaded
and runs very very smooth mind you I have an MMX 200 with 48mb of ram
best time 42.76..!
but to say the least the support is there check out
http://www.matrox.com

cheers.
