GPL: Anti-Aliasing---Won't work 4 me

by mets4 » Tue, 19 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I have two Canopus Pure 3D II in SLI mode, a Velocity 4400 16mb AGP, and I'm
unable to get the option to enable the anti-aliasing feature in GPL.   I
have all the bells and whistles needed to max this game out: PII-450, 384 Mb
RAM, and a mongo video setup.  However, this feature is greyed out in the
graphical options menu.

Seems to me when I had the demo running I had the same trouble then somehow
was finally able to enable A-A.  However, I went two months between the demo
and the full version.

Any help that comes my way will be greatly appreciated.

Check with your local utility company and see if they have sufficient line
capacity! <G>

On a more serious note, I think anti-aliasing is available only on Rendition
boards in GPL. I'm running a 3Dfx-based board also and the anti-aliasing
option is not enabled for me either.

You guys aren't missing much. IMHO Antialiasing is a bit ***and not
implemented properly in GPL. You get stange blurs on the horizon, it
looks very odd at times. I have a Rendition board and have AA off.

Cheers!

Also, not ever line or poly seems to be tagged for AA. Some of the
buildings are, some fences, road markings, etc, are not.
