Help: Alfa/Mini mod for F1 2002

by Rick Catto » Sun, 16 Mar 2003 21:33:39

Installed the Alfa mod yesterday and had things running smoothly, (superb
job, guys - well done!) and this morning added the mini mod. Followed
install instructions, and can now see and select cars from within menu
system. However, when going to track, the game boots me back to the
desktop - no message. (This is after the track loads - from the 'raceday'
menus.)

Anyone got any ideas/similar experiences?

System:
P4 2.2 with 512meg
128 mb GeForce 4 4200ti - with 41.09 det's
Hercules Fortissimo II Digital

Many thanks in advance for any feedback,

Rick.

Thats fairly common, it can be any number of problems...Usually the
later it crashes, the more likely it's a bad car file.  But basically which
tracks are crashing?  do all of them or just the new ones like Sonoma from
the Alfa mod?
You need to make sure the files needed for Alfa are also copied into
your mini mod.  You should have a tracks\common folder in Alfa..copy that
over if your mini track folder is missing it.

Thanks Dave - the problem I had was with Silverstone, don't know why. The
other tracks, including the new ones, all seemed to be ok. The problem was
also only evident when driving the 'Guinness'-skinned mini. Couldn't find a
place to copy the tracks/common folder to, as the mini mod only adds a new
folder to the ar147season\vehicles folder. In the end I simply did a clean
install of F12k2 and repatched for the Alfa/Mini mods. All seems to be well
now - no idea what happened!

Anyway, thanks again for the advice - worth knowing for the future.

Regards

Rick.
