First I would like to thank Ed for bringing everyone up to speed with the
message to IVGA.  Screenshots are great, but actual info from the
programmers is better.

Anyway, you said that NR2 will have an audio spotter built in.  I'm
assuming this will only be for crashes or other necessities.  I was
wondering if it would be too hard to add a crew chief message whenever we
wanted one.  Flipping through the radio menus is fairly easy a Talladega,
but at smaller, more difficult tracks it would be easier if we could just
hit a button, the spacebar for example, and have the crew chief tell us
current position, the interval, and one or two important pieces of info
like projected fuel stops or if one particular tire is warm.  This may be
too much to ask for, but at places like North Wilkesboro, if you can't
pause the game during the NRL, this would help out alot.

You guys could even see if Robert Duvall is available(Harry Hogg in Days
of Thunder) to do the voices.

First, I want to say that the "message to IVGA" was not "to IVGA", it
was to everyone.  Someone at IVGA (who will remain nameless) took it
upon themself to alter the opening of the message to make it look like
it was written to IVGA only.  What was posted on the IVGA web page was
simply the NRL_0696.txt file that is automatically downloaded when you
log onto Hawaii.

As for the spotter/crew chief, you are correct with the spotter, but
off a little on the crew chief.  The crew chief will be used for
things like "hey... pit on the next lap... you're low on fuel".

Hi Ed.  Will the Spotter also inform you of when another car has a fender on
your inside or outside?  It looks like NR2 is sticking with 640x480 and the same
sorta screen display (out the left window) so improving SA with an improved
Spotter is essential.

First of all, I think we're pretty lucky being able to have tire temps during
a race...  the real guys don't get that, so I'm not so much in favor of having
a CC tell you when a tire is getting too hot/worn out.  Have someone give
the lap times and know that you want to pit when your lap times go off a
certain amount.  It WOULD be nice, however, for the CC to call you in when
he's figured it's time for a fuel stop.  I know the real racers don't have
fuel gauges like we have in the sim, but they've got calculators in the pits.
Of course it's sometimes a pain to see the full fuel readout (those f-keys),
so the CC telling you when you have 5 laps left (or 2 or something like that)
on fuel would help.

I believe the drivers have fuel PRESSURE gauges in their cars,
however.  Just this past race at MIS, one of the TV guys mentioned
that Geoff Bodine had noticed his fuel pressure go down, and his crew
chief told him to 'Pit immediately.'
