patch and frame rate help!!

hi guys
just installed patch.  killed my frame rate.  running 300a  12meg
voodoo2 and Wingman Formula.(not the ff)   can't get over 25fps.   run
the old install and getting over 37fps.any suggestions

I'm having the same problem with celeron 300a (o/c to 450) and 2xvoodoo2

Go to the new core.ini (if it's got extension .sample, rename it) and
switch sync_method off i.e. sync_method=0. Should help to restore your
frame rate

Tried it - still no joy :(

I don't think its at all related to the type of wheel as this happened as
soon as I installed the patch, before my computer had ever seen a force
feedback wheel in its life.
