Tim,
Be sure to check out http://www.simracerscommunity.com and look for drivers
in your area, that place has a lot of drivers listed!

hehe, good point. Persoanlly I am in the East Bay (I-80 and I-680
interchange) but I wouldnt have any issues traveling a couple hours to a
more "central" location if a group of us get together. I have all the
equipment (switches, hubs, servers, etc) and access to just about anything
else we would need (got to love it when friends work for large networking
companies).

I would love to see something like this happen, but Im not too sure how many
others are willing to make a short trip for some good racin.

Sounds great, I hope you get it going. I'm about 300 miles away in
northern CA, probably won't make it...have fun!

Do you have to be good for that league? 'cause I really suck at racing
games, but I kinda enjoy them... I can play a mobile obstacle :o)...
Oh... I'm in Oakland by the way...

Absolutely!

I'd be up for a weekend of GPL, DTR, Viper, F12K, Carmageddon2, Road
Rash, and whatever else shows up soon (DTR Sprints looks to be a lot of
fun).  I'm just north of San Luis Obispo; any site south of Sacramento
is fine.  If you're further north, I'll still consider it, particularly
if held over a 3day weekend.  I'd be happy to help with setup and have a
modest selection of Lan equipment to donate.

Tim,

We must be pretty close to each other.  I'm near the 580/680 interchange in
Pleasanton.  Might be interested in a LAN event depending on which sim you
would be running.

Tim,

You must be around the Concord/Walnut Creek area.  I'm at the 580/680
interchange in Pleasanton.  Might be interested in some LAN racing depending on
what sim.  I know Mike Mabrey and a few others are in this area.  Maybe could
do a BBQ get together.

I posted this in enother newsgroup so I will post it here as well:

"I think that justifys for me to start planning something for
the Bay Area and if all goes well I will go further and larger.

I have done this a couple years back with the FPS type games. Started as
10-12 of us, and within 2 months attendance was over 100 on a monthly basis.
I was able to organize these events for less than $1000 in most cases. Some
of the smaller dates (40-50 people) were able to be done with only $400 for
the meeting space. Just have to shop around."

EMAIL me if interested and I will add you to the list.

Nope, you don't have to be good to just be in a league. I was
in the first World Circuit and ICR leagues and wasn't very good.

But you will get good, as it is more important to just participate.
