Yes, and one to the right of course. There are some edited camera views
available for this, but i've lost the url!
And three PC's!
Gerry
I remember trying this with two PCs. As I recall it involved two connections to
a GPL server and simply used the second to spectate.
Three would of course need 3 connections, which wouldn't seem too popular to my
fellow racers!
However, we now have GPL Proxy - is this a potential opportunity for multi
monitor racing.
The other PCs don't need to be too powerful though for simply displaying the
live feed from the server. Time to see just what bits are left over from the
last few upgrades!
Don't give away that ropey old 15" monitor gathering dust in the loft just yet
:-)

GPL doesn't support 3 monitors out of the box, but it is very easy to modify
it for multiple monitors. The side views is run on other computers in a
network. There is two ways to 'enable' multi-monitor support.
The first option is to use the default front view and put custom car camera
files in the client computers for the side views.
The second option is to change the field of view (FOV) from the default 78
degrees to about 47 degrees in all three computers and use the look
left/right buttons on the clients to get the side views. This works best as
i gives a great sense of speed and a more natural look of the virtual word.
It does also move the front tires and mirrors to the side monitors, so you
have to move your eyes/head a bit more to see everything. It is very cool
and that's how I run it at the moment.
The custom camera files and instructions for method one is availiable at my
web-space.

There is instructions at GPL++ about FOV adjustments.

Always happens - I post half an explanation which arrives just _after_ the full
one!
Do you use it to race on line - or do you limit it to ai only? It is the three
connections that is stopping me from becoming very unpopular & redesigning my PC
setup yet again (& building another PC out of odds & ends!)

Some pictures of my GPL 3 monitor system can be seen at my webpage

I can understand why you have a smile on your face on one of the pictures.
:)
Really wicked system. Ill show the pictures to my Wife. I'm sure she will
understand the need for a system like that! LOL
Nice one with the armadillo. I don't know what an armadillo is, but I guess
he's dead now. :)
You never hit any deer or maybe sheep?
Jone.
That is unbelievably cool!
Can you get away with 3 graphics cards on 1 PC?

Ok so the third PC is a bit flaky - maybe a heat problem - have to check it out.
But when it was working Wow!
Being outbraked by the AI into Parabolica is amazing, catching sight of the car
coming alongside in the peripheral vision, rather than that wondering where it
is it during the period out of sight.
Amazing. GPL just keeps getting better. Mind you the effort involved is getting
greater each time!
Cheers
