Got a Soltek SL-75KAV mobo, with a 750 AMD.
I've just learnt that if I upgrade the BIOS to Q11, I can slap a 2600 in!
*big cheesy grin*
Has anyone done this, and can they give me any tips and a good feeling about
what I'm about to do?
The website says run awdflash with /sn/py/cc options. sn doesn't backup the
original BIOS, is this a good idea, or should I leave this out, and backup
the original, for just in case?
cc clears the cmos data, do I really want this?
I thought I'd upgrade the BIOS before I buy the chip (and cooler), so that
if it doesn't work, I can go back to the original BIOS, and I haven't wasted
any money.
I can get a 2000 for 47, but a 2600 is 79. Is it worth the extra dosh? Is
there much more bang in a 2600 over a 2000?
Will I _finally_ be able to run GPL at full whack, after this?
Thanks.
