A couple of the scenes in this look like the start of most open NASCAR 2002
online races !.

Nice film though, many thanks for posting it.

Awesome!, And bonus points for using "Kebby's" music, cant remember which
one of the demoscene demos I remember that one from (Aardbei?,
Farb-Rausch?) - do you know know where I can get the .sid file for that
track? even the track name would help, thx.

Vennt.

I agree, but I think a half size (ie half screen res) version for people
without adsl/cable or faster would probably be a good idea! Shame to lose
those pixels, but 200Mb is a beeeeeg movie.

Andrew McP

PS I upgraded to adsl about a month ago and I have to say I've no idea how
I managed before! The movie took an hour or so to download at 60k/s.
Halfway through I found myself thinking "this is taking *ages*!" Then I
gave myself a good slap and worked out how long it would've taken by modem
:o)

The only pipe I have access to at work is the one we use to beat the side
of the forklift back into shape with. Those trucks don't handbrake turn
very well at all! ;o)

Hi Crash,

Nice special effects.  Too bad it doesn't include some really pure
competition shots...which is what GPL is all about (for me, at least).

N/m - I remembered, It's Farb-Rausch's awesome FR-08 'The Product"

If anyone hasn't seen it, then it contrast to Joachim's 200+ Mb file, take a
look at what demoscene coders can pack into 64k (all graphics, music &
effects are packed into one small 64k exe)

http://theproduct.de/fr08_final.zip

Trust me, it may be OT and nothing to do with racing, but it's worth it :)

Damn, and I thought that with the advent of 3d cards the DemoScene went out
of existence.
I still remember some good demos from the 90s... And music by PURPLE
MOTION... Ohhh, the music! :)
Is this guy still alive and well?
And the NAID DemoCompo in montreal, first and only one in north america that
I heard of. Nothing compared to what you Euro-Freaks could do, but a lot of
fun anyway. T'was in 1994, SVGA all the way, with scrollers and stuff..
There was that Omnicron demo wich was a display of visual oddities (Moebius
Stripes and ESCHEResque stuff like that)...What a feast.!!
