can anyone explain whats happening here?

I've had GPL since October, and just this past week I've stopped getting
the start screen with title and version number. - It goes straight into
the main menu.  That's fine with me, but at the same time, whenever I'm
playing on VROC and the Practice session ends, and goes into the Race,
it reverts back to the default car setup, and I have to change it and
set the fuel, when I'd rather be examining the grid and revving my
engine and whatever.  You can see how this annoys me.

Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,

You should check your harddrive for errors.

You probably deleted HCOPY.PBF, the opening splash screen.  Reload
it from the CD.

There are two setup selectors, one for the "current" setup and one
for the "race" setup.  GPL uses the "race" setup when starting a race.
It may not be displaying your "race" setup as your "current" setup
when you start a race (which is a minor bug in itself), but it will
indeed be used in the race.  (Unless there's a bigger bug...)

"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark
