Online GPL/NFS3

Does anyone have more info on the way GPL or NFS3 handles it's
networking? What will happen if one of the racers has a bad connection?
- Will the hole game slow down,
- will that player's car just stop or temporarily disapear,
- will that player just have a very bad framerate, but the car just
seems to move smooth to the other players, or
- something completely different?

And what will be a bad connection? A ping of 600, 300, 150....? I hope
it'll be better than NFS2. Playing NFS2 online is practically
impossible. Even a direct modem connection works horrible. The only way
I've been able to play NFS2 in multiplayer is via LAN. I'm really hoping
GPL and NFS3 will be a lot better.
